Antenna Design Engineer

Rivian, a leading manufacturer of electric adventure vehicles, is seeking a skilled Antenna Design Engineer to join our team. As a critical member of our engineering team, you will play a key role in designing and releasing antennas for our vehicles, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, cost, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design, test, and release antennas for Rivian programs with best-in-class performance, cost, and quality.
  • Analysis and Documentation: Analyze and document design trade-offs, and create antenna designs that meet specific requirements.
  • Supplier Management: Responsible for DFMEA and DFM with suppliers, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Performance Testing: Test and characterize antenna performance on the component/subsystem level and end-to-end performance of wireless products.
  • Results Processing: Process and document results to validate and compare performance of different designs.
  • Product Delivery: Drive product delivery and validation schedule/processes/completion, releasing designs into product life management (PLM) and documentation systems.

  • Vehicle Access (IoT devices)
Requirements:
  • Education: BS or higher in Electrical engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge on measurement equipment for antenna characterization and system performance validation, PLM, scheduling, and MPL tools, antenna simulation tools (e.g. HFSS, CST, FEKO, XFDTD), MATLAB, programming languages (e.g., C, Python).
  • Communication and Data Analysis: Strong communication skills and excellent skills in data analysis, record-keeping, report writing, and presentation.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • RF Systems Expertise: Understanding of total end-to-end performance of RF systems, including impedance matching, link budget calculation, TIS/TRP, ECC, and theoretical knowledge of OTA parameters.
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience with antenna design and testing.
