Position Overview

As a Mechanical Systems Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing intricate construction projects that involve both contracted and self-performed work. Your role will require you to:

  • Manage Project Timelines: Develop and maintain project schedules, proactively addressing critical paths and communicating any obstacles that may arise.
  • Supervise Contractors: Ensure that contractors are managed effectively, efficiently, and safely throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Logistics Planning: Create and uphold site logistics and execution plans to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Field Direction: Lead field operations, track changes, and coordinate efforts with a larger team.
  • Collaborate with Engineering: Work closely with engineering teams to strategically resolve design challenges.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that installations meet the requirements and quality expectations of end users.
  • Inspection Coordination: Schedule and oversee quality control inspections with relevant parties.
  • Material Management: Organize and track materials and equipment, coordinating logistics as necessary.
  • Documentation: Verify contractor work and provide regular status reports to the site Construction Manager.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential issues early and implement effective risk management strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in managing construction projects within manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in evaluating drawings and creating biddable work packages.
  • Experience in negotiating change orders and managing RFIs.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to engage actively in fieldwork.
