Position Summary:

We are in search of a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to uphold the integrity of our internal and external financial reporting. This role demands a detail-oriented, research-driven individual with excellent communication skills to ensure adherence to current and evolving accounting standards, evaluate internal controls, and assist with various complex reporting tasks. Reporting directly to the Reporting Manager, the ideal candidate will possess substantial knowledge and experience in regulatory and GAAP reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist with internal and external monthly reporting packages, regulatory submissions, employee benefit plans, quarterly earnings materials, and GAAP financial statements, while supporting associated audits.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual financial statements, including drafting financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Mentor team members, reviewing their work to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Conduct financial statement flux analysis and investigate deviations and trends against budget, prior month, and prior year activities.
  • Draft offering memorandums and other reports necessary for regulatory, legal, or other requirements, ensuring consistency and accuracy in presentation and disclosures.
  • Research accounting issues and assist in implementing new accounting standards.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and propose implementation strategies.
  • Support ad hoc financial information requests and analyses.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management and both internal and external stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; a Master's degree or higher is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required, with a preference for candidates with electric utility experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Oracle or similar ERP systems.
  • Highly motivated and driven individual capable of inspiring others towards positive change.
  • Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
