Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess a Juris Doctorate degree and be in good standing with, or have a pending application to, the bar of a relevant jurisdiction. While prior litigation experience is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.

The candidate should demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written; exhibit sound judgment and discretion; and be reliable, responsible, and capable of maintaining confidentiality. A proactive attitude and initiative in problem-solving are essential, along with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a team-oriented environment. A polished and professional appearance is expected at all times. This role demands exceptional writing capabilities, as well as strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills. The successful candidate must adeptly manage multiple shifting priorities and demands simultaneously. Proficiency in computer-assisted legal research and word processing is required.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role is structured within the Judicial Salary Plan (JSP) 11- $72,553 to (JSP) 13- $103,409, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is part of the Judicial Branch of the U.S. Government, offering comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Participation in mandatory direct deposit is required.

Employment Conditions

Conditions of Employment: All application materials are subject to verification. Appointment to this position is contingent upon a thorough background investigation, including an FBI fingerprint check. The judicial clerk serves at the discretion of the court and is classified as an 'at will' employee, subject to termination with or without cause. All judiciary personnel must adhere to the Judicial Code of Conduct. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or in the process of obtaining U.S. citizenship.
