Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Wooster Community Hospital.

About the Role:

This part-time position offers 24 hours of work per week, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and collaborating with our healthcare team to deliver high-quality services.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain appropriate clinical skills, administering care according to WCH/unit policy/procedure, current standards of care and Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
  • Perform assessments/reassessments and documentation relevant to patient's condition, needs and age, per nursing documentation guidelines. Communicate changes in patient condition to physician in timely manner and suggest possible interventions and course of care as appropriate in a collaborative manner.
  • Initiate, evaluate and review plan of care.
  • Provide age-appropriate health teaching related to diagnosis, identified patient/family needs and medication, using available teaching resources and assure patient family understanding by teach back.
  1. Administer medication safely:
  • Correctly demonstrate use of CPOE (Computer Physician Order Entry).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of drug purpose and effectiveness as related to diagnosis.
  • Follow 6 rights of medication administration.
  • Demonstrate appropriate/safe medication handling/administration.
  • Reassess and document effectiveness of medication.
  • Assure team members huddle and round on patients to:
    • Evaluate environment to assure safety & infection control standards are met.
    • Evaluate care provided to assure it is based on practice standards and evidence-based practice.
    • Evaluate educational plan and its implementation; assessing for and addressing gaps in care.
    • Evaluate adherence to nursing practice standards of care and documentation of care by the nurse and team members.
  • Coordinate work to achieve maximum productivity. Able to multitask and prioritize workload. Work habits are consistently adjusted to accommodate multiple responsibilities and are prioritized and completed in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate reasonable and rational judgment in decision making.
  • Other duties as assigned by management team.

About You:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care. A registered nurse with experience in a similar setting is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year (dependent on qualifications and experience).
