Our facility is dedicated to the production of downhole components essential for drilling operations across North America. Operating continuously, our plant is equipped to meet the high demand for our products, providing a well-organized, climate-controlled environment within a 300,000 SQ. ft. fabrication space. We utilize state-of-the-art CNC machinery and maintain a strong commitment to safety, ensuring our team members return home safely after each shift.

Role Responsibilities

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work under the guidance of a supervisor or seasoned machinist to produce high-quality components on CNC equipment, including lathes and milling machines, efficiently and safely.
  • Conduct setup modifications and initial inspections on production runs using CNC machinery.
  • Utilize overhead lifting devices for loading parts, adjusting controls, setting offsets, performing simple edits, and inspecting parts for quality compliance.
  • Proactively identify potential issues prior to production runs, monitor machine operations, and adjust controls as necessary to rectify malfunctions or deviations.
  • Interpret blueprints and utilize precision measuring tools to ascertain dimensions, tolerances, and tooling specifications.
  • Maintain proficiency in tooling instructions, including fixture dimensions, feed rates, cutting speeds, and appropriate cutting tools.
  • Test new programs and execute minor edits on numerically controlled machines.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of workspaces and perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Review and comprehend work orders, Bills of Materials, and related documentation.
  • Inspect raw materials and verify part serial numbers prior to machining.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols and operational guidelines throughout the production process.
  • Conduct final inspections of finished products.
  • Optimize production yields while maintaining high-quality standards to minimize defects.
  • Follow NOV's safety, quality, and delivery guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness in work areas to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Support facility objectives related to Safety, Quality, Innovation, and Cost by providing feedback on process enhancements and efficiency improvements.
  • Remain receptive to feedback and collaboration with various departments.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned to support team and operational goals.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete a drug screening and background investigation.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC mills or lathes.
  • Familiarity with G & M Codes.
  • Preferred experience of at least 1 year in safety and manufacturing processes.
  • 2+ years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience in reading technical drawings and blueprints is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of measurement instruments is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.
