Position Summary

We are in search of an accomplished Engineering Manager who possesses extensive expertise in SolidWorks, sheet metal, and structural fabrication. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to precision engineering, exceptional attention to detail, and the capability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement work instructions, daily tasks, and staffing requirements for each phase of metal fabrication projects, while managing engineering personnel as necessary.
  • Oversee and coordinate the efforts of design engineers, design drafters, tool engineers, and production teams to ensure timely project progression within budget constraints.
  • Facilitate the procurement of materials, equipment, and tooling essential for fabrication projects.
  • Monitor project progress through engineering and ensure proper management in production by engineering staff.
  • Mentor and cultivate a high-performing engineering workforce.
  • Assess project schedules and make necessary adjustments while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in internal meetings with production team members to ensure effective communication and feedback to the engineering team.
  • Represent Ameritex at customer facilities and during quality audits as required.
  • Act as a technical resource for engineering and production personnel to swiftly and accurately resolve issues.
  • Enhance and optimize engineering and estimating processes and technologies.
  • Perform additional job-related duties and assignments as needed to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to ascertain project requirements, communicate progress, and proactively address conflicts or issues.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.

· Mastery-level proficiency in SolidWorks, with at least two years of demonstrated experience in complex part and assembly modeling.

· Strong understanding of GD&T principles and experience applying them to technical drawings.

· Proven ability to operate efficiently in a high-mix, low-volume fabrication environment.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

· In-depth knowledge of sheet metal and structural steel manufacturing techniques and processes.

· Familiarity with other CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and experience in sheet metal design is advantageous.

· Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
