Senior Materials and Processes Development Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct material tests and interpret data to support the development of various spaceflight systems
  • Work collaboratively with a team to analyze samples and generate results in a laboratory environment
  • Author lab reports and communicate with internal customers to ensure effective collaboration
  • Develop engineering tests to define requirements for undefined material forms and processes
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field
  • Hands-on experience in a materials testing lab
  • Basic knowledge of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and Failure Investigation
  • Strong written and computer skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with characterization of wear surfaces, fractures, and materials using methods such as optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, and infrared spectroscopy
  • Working knowledge of metallurgy and/or experience working in a metallurgical laboratory
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar assignment-tracking tools
Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $89,820.00-$125,748.00 per year, depending on location. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including relocation assistance and opportunities for professional growth and development.
