Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Materials and Processes Development Engineer to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in developing metallic Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes for various spaceflight systems. The successful candidate will lead test campaigns to develop mechanical and physical/thermal properties for materials manufactured internally at Blue Origin. They will collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and integration engineers to implement requirements across all phases of AM development.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Key qualifications for this position include:
  • Bachelor's degree in materials, chemical, mechanical engineering or other relevant field, with 5+ years of experience.
  • Proven experience in process development and optimization of metallic AM processes.
  • Hands-on experience measuring, analyzing, developing, characterizing Additive Manufacturing of nickel (e.g. Inconel), aluminum, and copper alloys.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience managing technology development projects, measuring technical progress, resources, and managing budgets.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Compensation Range
The salary for this position ranges from $111,690 to $156,366 annually, depending on location. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with up to a 5% company match, and an Education Support Program. Paid Time Off includes up to four weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, plus 14 company-paid holidays. Discretionary bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as share in company results.
