Reports to: Director of Project Management

Primary Purpose: The Environmental Project Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the comprehensive management and guidance necessary for the effective execution and completion of various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and specific client directives to maintain compliance.
  • Address and rectify any identified deficiencies promptly.
  • Uphold a high level of precision within the assigned team, documenting any shortcomings that arise.
  • Confirm that all telephonic, written, and electronic regulatory submissions are completed to uphold compliance on behalf of clients.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and third-party contractors to guarantee the quality of services provided.
  • Maintain transparency with senior management regarding any issues related to invoices, contractors, and customer service, ensuring all resolutions are communicated and approved.
  • Enhance business processes through analysis and collaboration with senior management.
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities for team members, including coaching project managers to optimize productivity and quality.
  • Ensure that Project Managers and support staff meet performance expectations.
  • Coordinate with Project Management teams and the Director of Program Management to confirm and direct the implementation of company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee daily operations to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with the team through both written and verbal means.
  • Assist in the training and development of Project Managers.
  • Respond to all internal and external communications promptly to ensure customer concerns are addressed and resolved effectively.
  • Maintain professional competency in all job-related areas.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Program Management.

Position Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of maintaining composure during high-pressure situations.
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • Effective communication skills with clients, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Able to manage large volumes of data while meeting critical deadlines.

Position Requirements:

To successfully perform this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Waste Management, Health, Safety, or Emergency Management; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
  • Experience in hazardous material response and emergency spill management is essential.
  • Possession of HAZWOPER, IHMM, RCRA, DOT, and OSHA training certifications.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a managerial role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • A collaborative team player focused on achieving departmental goals.
  • Strong data entry skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Computer literacy and proficiency in standard office software and organizational tools.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk while engaging in conversations.
  • Arm and hand dexterity, with the ability to move the head, neck, and back.
  • Good vision, color perception, and hearing, with or without correction.
  • Capability to lift and move equipment and materials weighing up to 20 pounds independently.

Working Conditions:

  • This role is primarily based in a climate-controlled office or remote setting, with potential travel to project sites in various weather conditions.

Work Hours:

  • A minimum of 40 hours per week is expected, with additional hours as needed based on business demands.
  • Emphasis on productive time management is essential for this role.

Job-Related Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation to and from work is necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
