Internal Medicine Resident

Nuvance Health is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Internal Medicine Resident to join our team. As a PGY 1 Resident, you will be part of our comprehensive graduate medical education program, designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in your career.
Responsibilities- Develop a personal program of self-study and professional growth with guidance from our experienced faculty.
- Participate in safe, effective, and compassionate patient care under supervision, commensurate with your level of advancement and responsibility.
- Participate fully in the educational and scholarly activities of our program, including teaching and supervising other residents and students.
- Participate in institutional programs and activities involving the medical staff, adhering to established practices, procedures, and policies of the institution.
- Develop an understanding of ethical, socioeconomic, and medical/legal issues that affect graduate medical education and apply cost containment measures in patient care.
- Comply with established ethical behavior and practices, adhering to federal, state, and Nuvance deadlines and requirements regarding licensure and registration for the practice of medicine.
- Engage in activities that promote a healthy examination of and joyful engagement in the physician's role, taking full advantage of resources provided by the program.
- Maintain and model REACH Values (Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Compassion, Honor).
- Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance to conferences, lectures, and other academic learning assignments, with patient care always being the top priority.
- Graduation from a medical school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
- Graduation from a college of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Graduation from a medical school outside the United States or Canada, holding a valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
Our residency program is located at Danbury Hospital, with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week, including day shifts and occasional evening shifts.
