Position Overview: The Engineering & Maintenance Manager is accountable for the supervision, administration, and execution of all building utility systems, infrastructure, interiors, and non-medical equipment maintenance and repairs. This role oversees the daily implementation and management of the Utility Systems Management Plan, Fire Safety Management Plan, Statement of Conditions, and the computerized maintenance management system, ensuring compliance with the relevant standards for Environment of Care and Life Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer the computerized maintenance management system to ensure timely action on requests and completion of corrective measures.
- Ensure adherence to all preventative maintenance protocols and develop preventive maintenance programs for new equipment based on manufacturer guidelines or an Alternative Equipment Maintenance (AEM) program.
- Engage in both operational and capital budgeting processes, managing assigned budgets effectively.
- Collaborate with organizational leaders to support daily operations, projects, and events.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with a master-level license or certification in a building trade, OR
- Associate degree in engineering, applied science, facilities management, or a related field.
Minimum Work Experience:
- 5 years of relevant engineering experience (e.g., facility management, operations and maintenance, clinical engineering, safety and security, planning, design, and construction, or environmental management), with preference for experience in a healthcare environment.
- 5 years of management, supervisory, or administrative experience.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification in Healthcare Facilities Management (CHFM) is preferred.
- Master-level licensure or certification in a building trade is desirable.
- Valid driver's license.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Proven knowledge of hospital equipment and primary and secondary mechanical, electrical, and plumbing distribution systems; construction, installation, operation, and repair.
- Understanding of maintenance and repair management systems.
- Familiarity with building operation design and construction standards.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with computer applications related to work order systems, microprocessor control systems, and spreadsheet software.
- Effective human resource and interpersonal skills.
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining customer focus amidst frequent interruptions.
Salary Range: $73,500 - $117,500
