We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Home Lending Specialist to join our team at Government Printing Office Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our lending team, you will be responsible for efficiently processing home equity loans from start to finish, providing exceptional member service, and ensuring timely closings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively keep members informed about their loan process and provide regular communication.
  • Manage the pipeline of active, open loans, reviewing and updating status, and following up with parties to ensure timely closings.
  • Prepare loan closing documents, coordinate closings, and book loans on our core system.
  • Provide outstanding member service, including responding to requests for pay-offs, questions about current mortgages/home equity payments, interest rates, insurance, and payments.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with member service representatives, attorneys, title companies, real estate agents, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Backup mortgage processor to prepare mortgage disclosures, follow up with parties, and work with members, realtors, and attorneys as needed.
  • Provide support to branch staff as needed, relating to new loans and the servicing of already booked loans.
  • Cross-train within the department to support all areas.
  • Stay up-to-date on regulatory guidelines, Credit Union policies, and procedures related to Real Estate Lending.
  • Perform system maintenance as needed, such as payment adjustments.
Requirements
  • 6 months of similar or related experience.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • MLO-certified.
  • Notary Public.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, various software programs, and calculators.
