Surgical Sterile Processing Specialist Job Description

At Tampa General Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Sterile Processing Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards for decontamination and processing of surgical instruments
  • Work under general supervision of Sterile Processing Supervisor and in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure efficient and safe processing of instruments
  • Perform quality control checks on processed instruments
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on best practices

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in sterile processing or related field preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
