Job Summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a Customer Service Representative to provide exceptional customer service and support to our customers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Observe and follow all company policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and safe shopping environment.
  • Assist with daily tasks, including cleaning check-stands, sweeping floors, and maintaining a neat and organized store appearance.
  • Support special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervision, working within our company's management planning (MPP) guidelines to maintain productivity.
  • Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect, performing accurate price checks and controlling excessive use of store supplies.
  • Assist with maintenance duties, including cleaning break rooms, rest rooms, and performing other tasks as assigned.
  • Observe security standards, staying alert and aware of customers' actions and behavior, reporting any abnormal behavior to management or security.
  • Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and in good order, performing all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
  • Willingness to learn multiple tasks and demonstrate ability to perform the technical requirements of the job.
  • Ability to perform frequent to continuous repetitive fingering, grasping, reaching, and hand/arm motions while standing the majority of the shift.
  • Ability to bend and lift products weighing up to 15 pounds continuously, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to work in and out of inclement weather when necessary.

Preferred Requirements
  • Greet all customers and provide them with prompt courteous service and assistance.
  • Bag or package merchandise according to established company policies and procedures.
  • Sort and return return-to-stock items (put-backs) back to their normal shelf locations with priority attention given to refrigerated and perishable items.
  • Gather shopping carts and take them to designated areas and pickup points.
  • Provide carryout service in accordance with the company's guidelines.
  • Comply with all safety standards while operating the bottle crushing equipment.
