Job Description

Tetra Tech is seeking a highly skilled BIM/CAD Designer to join our team. As a BIM/CAD Designer, you will be responsible for supporting production on projects from beginning to completion, with a strong understanding of disciplines in structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil fields.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively engage with project managers and design engineers to ensure timely project completion within allocated budgets.
  • Assist structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering staff in the development of complex preliminary and final designs of hydraulic structures.
  • Analyze complex sketches, notes, and other input to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings and models.
  • Develop 3D models of project features using CADD software.
  • Coordinate with the Tetra Tech CAD Manager to implement project-specific CAD standards.
  • Set up project drawings to conform to client standards.
  • Implement additional material data through Parts and Families or Instance Data Catalogs to produce Product Schedules and Quantity Reports.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in a related field (experience can be substituted for degree).
  • 5 years of relevant experience and working knowledge of structural/electrical/mechanical engineering principles, practices, and methods.
  • 3 years of strong design experience and competence with BIM software (i.e. Revit, with a willingness to learn OpenBuildings).
  • Proven knowledge of plan set development and ability to conform to various jurisdictional standards is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, committed to project schedules and deadlines, able to work within a team environment and independently, and self-motivated.
