Job Title: General Manager

Join Kaizen Lab Inc. as we seek a seasoned General Manager to lead our luxury hotel in Edgartown, MA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the hotel's operating programs, including restaurants, bars, room service, amenities, private onsite catering, hotel front office, and housekeeping and high touch guest services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide vision, leadership, and strategy to inspire team members to deliver exceptional facilities, hotel services, food and beverage, and drive financial success.
  • Ensure operational excellence and professionalism, guided by the Forbes Training Standards as a roadmap for service excellence.
  • Manage department managers and day-to-day operations to the highest standards within budgeted guidelines.
  • Preserve excellent internal and external guest service.
  • Recruit, train, and appraise talented personnel.
  • Establish performance targets, staffing schedules, and all Front and Back of House policies and procedures.
  • Lead the hotel and larger leadership teams with a clear message, sound judgment, patience, persistence, and generous feedback.
  • Provide operational support to execute successful food and beverage programs and drive profit to the bottom line with solid financial controls.
  • Oversee compliance with health and safety regulations and a complex set of historic, cultural, and permitted restrictions unique to the Harbor View Hotel.
  • Assist managers with work schedules, payroll, checkbooks, billing, ordering, inventory, and staff training.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for guest recovery to build meaningful guest experiences.
Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of previous General Management experience in a fast-paced, high-volume atmosphere, seasonal and iconic destination setting.
  • 5-8 years of Restaurant Experience in a range of positions.
  • Excellent people skills and a positive, outgoing, and naturally happy personality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that promote a positive and insightful work environment along with community relations.
  • Essential computer skills including Microsoft Office, Zoom, collaborative workspaces such as Google Suite and/or SharePoint, and Point of Sale and Inventory Management systems.
  • Serv-Safe Certified.
  • Legal ability to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to work a flexible workweek including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Mastery in delegating multiple tasks.
  • Business or Hospitality school degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
