The Bridge Over Troubled Waters is seeking a skilled Bilingual Housing Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our housing program, you will play a vital role in assisting program participants and families navigate from homelessness to permanent housing and or transitional housing.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide trauma-informed case management, coaching, and supportive services to program participants.
- Assist program participants in obtaining goals, objectives, and ensuring program meets grant outcomes.
- Provide case management, coaching, and supportive services, including danger assessments and safety planning, needs assessments, mobile advocacy, and transportation assistance.
- Link program participants to appropriate information and referrals in-house and in the community.
- Provide legal advocacy, including accompanying program participants to court, assisting with filing of protective orders, and educating program participants on the judicial system and laws pertaining to domestic/sexual violence.
- Facilitate education and support groups with program participants.
- Prepare and submit documentation of all services provided to program participants in compliance with grant objectives.
- A High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Must have a working knowledge of MS Office suite of programs, specifically MS Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
- Must have own reliable transportation.
- A Bachelor's Degree in social sciences or a related subject is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, but not required.
