About the Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to join our team at Salt Lake City. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our extensive building systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire safety. This is a critical role that requires a proactive problem-solver with a knack for tackling complex issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and complete emergency and routine trouble calls, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants and passengers.
  • Act as a personal representative of the Director of Engineering and Maintenance, overseeing a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and skilled workers.
  • Direct and coordinate maintenance supervisors, technicians, skilled and semi-skilled workers, as well as representatives of local utility companies and contractors, in the repair of equipment and restoration of services.
  • Perform journey-level repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment, including boilers, chillers, engine generators, pumps, motors, electrical, natural gas, and water systems.
  • Operate and monitor a complex Computerized Building Management System to diagnose and correct problems with all associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot all facilities systems problems and determine the scope of work and action needed to be followed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of journey-level job-related work experience and training with maintenance equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety rules and hazards and application of accident prevention measures associated with the operation of equipment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license or driving privilege card.
  • Must possess one or more of the following: Salt Lake City Steam Engineers - Unlimited License; CFC Certification, Fire Extinguisher Certification.
  • Ability to supervise and relate well with the general public, supervisors, and fellow employees.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, graveyard, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions:

  • Moderately heavy physical activity required to push, pull, or lift heavy weights up to 100 pounds from 10% to 15% of the work time.
  • Difficult working positions; may have to stand, walk, or sit in uncomfortable positions for extended periods, and squat or crawl into small spaces under and near operating equipment to check and complete minor repairs.
  • High exposure to disagreeable elements such as dust, fumes, noise, dampness, cold, heat, chemicals, or grease.
