Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Specialist to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and verify patient information, including insurance details and demographic data
  • Perform insurance verification and obtain patient signatures for required documents
  • Upload patient identification and insurance cards
  • File and maintain accurate medical records
  • Correct registration work queue errors and confirm appointments
  • Answer phone calls and provide excellent customer service
  • Perform referral documentation and work in the claims edit work queue
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare providers and other team members to achieve team goals
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare experience preferred
  • Access to reliable transportation and ability to travel 10% of the time
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Epic EMR software a plus
