HHS Construction, LLC., a Congruex Company, is seeking an Operator to enhance our wireless/engineering/construction division. Congruex is dedicated to designing and constructing broadband and wireless communication frameworks that support various sectors including healthcare, energy, and transportation.

Role Overview:
The Operator will be responsible for the operation of heavy machinery for construction and excavation tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy machinery in accordance with company safety protocols.
  • Load and unload equipment from transportation vehicles.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on directional drilling and locating equipment, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Safely transport machinery to job sites.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment efficiently.
  • Establish shots and execute various pipe configurations for underground utility installations.
  • Perform drilling operations near active utilities while adhering to safety precautions.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job specifications.
  • Before initiating bore shots, verify the location of all utilities and develop a strategy to navigate around them.
  • Inspect and maintain job-related equipment.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Be prepared to work additional hours or weekends as required.
  • Execute other assigned duties as necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience using locating equipment for underground utilities.
  • Experience operating drills near active utilities.
  • Familiarity with locate systems.
  • Ability to operate various machinery including asphalt rollers, skid steers, backhoes, and mini excavators.
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL with tanker endorsement preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with Ditch Witch and Vermeer equipment is advantageous.
  • Proficient in safely operating drilling equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and ANSI standards, along with company regulations.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to maintain visual and audible contact with team members and machinery.
  • Comfortable working around heavy equipment.
  • Capability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and twisting required.
  • Must wear safety gear including boots, glasses, and hard hats as necessary.
