Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the Finance Department, ensuring effective daily operations.
  • Oversee the accounting and financial obligations of the hotel, providing essential support and insights to the Director of Finance and the hotel management team.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  • Act as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Director of Finance.

Essential Duties

  • Support the team in achieving departmental goals through effective leadership.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful work environment.
  • Supervise the accounting team, ensuring regular performance evaluations.
  • Ensure a safe and organized workplace.
  • Foster strong interdepartmental relationships.
  • Monitor attendance and time records for all accounting personnel.
  • Ensure timely submission of financial reports as per the reporting schedule.
  • Manage the archiving and organization of financial records.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and assist in generating comprehensive financial reports.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices for financial management and controls.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Manage cash flow and oversee the hotel’s banking activities.
  • Ensure the effective use of financial IT systems.
  • Analyze daily revenue and conduct audits of revenue adjustments.
  • Address guest inquiries and concerns regarding billing and collections promptly.
  • Assist in payroll management, ensuring alignment with occupancy forecasts.
  • Evaluate departmental operating costs to protect profitability.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of financial performance with department heads.
  • Implement a robust framework of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Facilitate regular financial meetings with management.
  • Ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a financial management role, preferably within the hospitality sector.
  • Skills: Proficiency in financial software and tools, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to solve problems effectively.
