Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Associate to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Practice Administrative Associate, you will play a critical role in coordinating patient care and physician activity in our Bridgeport Region Float Practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Appointment Scheduling: Maintain appointment schedule templates, communicate schedule changes to staff and physicians, and ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
  • Front Desk Operations: Coordinate the check-in process, verify patient information, and maintain accurate records in accordance with NEMG policies and procedures.
  • Telephone Management: Answer calls, take messages, and refer callers to appropriate personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Pre-Authorizations: Execute pre-authorizations for diagnostic tests and procedures as required by insurance companies.
  • Electronic Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records and/or paper medical charts.
  • Administrative Support: Perform daily activities, including message retrieval, voicemail, fax distribution, filing, photocopying, and mail sorting.
  • Co-Pay Collections: Collect and reconcile co-pay collections and cash drawers within Epic in accordance with NEMG policy and procedures.
  • Quality Improvement: Collaborate in the development of and contribute to individual team and department quality improvement and evaluation activities.
  • Cultural Competence: Utilize effective communication skills to interact with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
  • Education: High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1 year of administrative healthcare experience or 2 years of administrative office experience required.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills required. Ability to multi-task and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications preferred.
