General Overview:
The Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Growth is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for the Credit Union's branding efforts. This role entails developing, managing, and executing organization-wide marketing and business development initiatives aimed at enhancing member engagement and supporting the Credit Union's growth objectives. The position includes direct oversight of the Marketing and Business Development teams and operates under the guidance of the SVP/Chief Lending & Growth Officer with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulates and implements comprehensive brand equity, membership growth, marketing, and communication strategies that align with the Credit Union's mission and strategic objectives.
- Designs and executes digital marketing, social media, content marketing, and online advertising campaigns to boost awareness, engagement, and conversions. Ensures consistent messaging across internal and external channels, including the creation of collateral materials, merchandising, campaigns, and advertising communications through various multimedia platforms.
- Leads the social media strategy for the organization, ensuring an active and engaging presence across relevant platforms, leveraging these channels for brand enhancement and member interaction.
- Prepares and manages the budget while executing the annual marketing and business development plan in alignment with the Credit Union's Strategic Plan and growth targets.
- Oversees the Credit Union's website and messaging across all member-facing platforms (online banking, mobile banking, statements, etc.) to maximize usage, cross-selling opportunities, and digital engagement while ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Responsible for maintaining the branding and marketing image of branches and facilities.
- Directs the community business development team, focusing on expanding the Credit Union's Select Employer Groups (SEG) and increasing engagement within the community and local businesses.
- Utilizes available data to inform business decisions. Analyzes marketing campaign performance against key performance indicators such as return on investment (ROI), conversion rates, member acquisition costs, and engagement metrics across various channels.
- Conducts market research studies and surveys to gain insights into market trends and member preferences. Leverages data to analyze member behaviors and life cycle data, extracting actionable insights to personalize member experiences, enhance engagement strategies, and improve retention rates.
- Manages the Credit Union's community giving initiatives and represents the organization at various community events and associations.
- Oversees, retains, develops, and directs the Marketing and Business Development teams to ensure alignment with the Credit Union's strategies and service expectations.
- Evaluates and recommends appropriate staffing needs for the department. Ensures timely completion of employee performance appraisals, including goal setting, constructive feedback, and career development planning. Coordinates with Human Resources for employee counseling and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Promotes a positive work environment by recognizing top performers and communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards, demonstrating the Credit Union's core values.
- Stays informed of industry developments, including changes in regulations and technology.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures as well as Banking/Credit Union regulations.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, business administration, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the financial services industry is preferred (with at least 3 years focused on digital or mobile platforms).
- At least 3 years of management experience is required.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills with a strong emphasis on teamwork, project management, and follow-up.
- In-depth knowledge of contemporary marketing, customer experience, brand, product, and service management theories, practices, techniques, and methodologies, including evolving market dynamics and consumer preferences. Ability to translate research and data into effective marketing and member experience strategies that drive growth and profitability.
- Highly organized, creative, and strategic thinker with the ability to collaborate across the organization. Strong understanding and proficiency in traditional and online marketing strategies, tools, and methodologies.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with strong analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
