The Air Wisconsin Airlines Aircraft Maintenance Trainee Program offers an excellent opportunity for individuals aspiring to build a career in aviation. This program is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited FAA A&P school or for Aviation Technicians with verified military or general aviation experience who are pursuing their A&P license through a certified administrator.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Promote and prioritize safety as a fundamental aspect of the Maintenance Department.

• Adhere to the procedures outlined in the General Maintenance Manual.

• Maintain complete and accurate records of maintenance activities.

• Under direct supervision, perform standard aircraft maintenance tasks efficiently and safely, including repairs, modifications, and replacements.

• Prepare various maintenance reports and summaries, including performance metrics.

• Validate discrepancy coding in the Maintenance and Engineering system and make corrections as necessary.

• Communicate effectively with maintenance personnel at all levels, keeping colleagues and leadership informed of work progress and challenges.

• Complete on-the-job training forms and any required reading and training.

• Attendance is a critical responsibility.

• Follow all company policies and procedures.

SUPERVISION:

• Work under direct supervision from various positions while learning the core competencies of each role.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS:

• Minimal contact required.

JUDGMENT AND INITIATIVE:

• Required to exercise sound judgment and initiative in performing job functions.

EQUIPMENT USED:

• PC, AS400, Sabre, SharePoint, Microsoft Suite.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

To perform satisfactorily, candidates should possess:

• Bilingual capabilities

• Interpersonal skills

• Manual dexterity

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Actively pursuing or recently completed a 2 or 4-year degree in an aviation-related field is preferred.

• Within 6-36 months of obtaining an FAA-issued A&P License.

• Maintain open communication with your advisor.

• Stay in good academic standing (grades, attendance, etc.).

• Ability to participate in hangar visits during day or night shifts.

• Commitment to a career in aviation.
