Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team at GeoControl Systems, Inc. This role will provide technical expertise in general laboratory maintenance and support for our Biomedical and Environmental Research Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in general laboratory maintenance and support for the Laboratory Support Services (LSS) team.
  • Ensure the maintenance, proper certification, and calibration of all laboratory equipment in accordance with established quality management system standards.
  • Support the management of the house gas supply, maintaining inventory and distribution of gases, liquid nitrogen, and dry ice.
  • Respond to off-nominal alerts for the Environmental Monitoring System as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required, including maintenance and troubleshooting of refrigeration systems and refrigerant evacuations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years' experience in an equivalent field or associate degree with 5 to 8 years' experience in an equivalent field.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.
  • Experience with general equipment repair, electrical systems, and specialized equipment.
  • Proven ability to perform technical work to high standards and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to capture, communicate, and implement the needs and requirements of customers for their projects.
  • Ability to attain and maintain respect and confidence of the customer and contract personnel.
  • Must be able to work independently, be highly motivated, and able to work with multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate with project managers, project leads, customers, and with contract colleagues.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be open-minded to new ideas and new ways of doing business, willing to embrace new opportunities, and the flexibility to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Reliable and dependable work habits and the dedication to get the job done.
  • Standing/walking; climbing/stooping/kneeling; lifting/pulling/pushing: 25lbs or greater is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Certification.
  • General knowledge of laboratory equipment and systems.
  • Familiarization with gas pressure systems and their components.
  • Familiarization with general maintenance and repair.
  • Familiarization with HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Familiarization with biosafety cabinets.
