The Biomedical Technician II at MD Anderson Center provides technical support for the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation, and upgrades of general patient medical and scientific electronic equipment, physiological monitoring, surgical equipment, and other electronic devices.

Key responsibilities include demonstrating technical support, pre-purchase evaluations, incident investigations, and project management for defined equipment. The role also involves coordinating inside and outside vendor support activities to ensure completion of equipment support activities and contract compliance.

Additionally, the Biomedical Technician II will provide technical support for general patient care medical equipment, physiological monitoring, surgical equipment, and conduct electrical safety inspections for the institution to the component level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation, and upgrades of general patient medical and scientific electronic equipment, physiological monitoring, surgical equipment, and other electronic devices.
  • Demonstrate technical support, pre-purchase evaluations, incident investigations, and project management for defined equipment.
  • Coordinate inside and outside vendor support activities to ensure completion of equipment support activities and contract compliance.
  • Provide technical support for general patient care medical equipment, physiological monitoring, surgical equipment, and conduct electrical safety inspections for the institution to the component level.
  • Communicate with clients to obtain access to equipment, resolve equipment issues, and minimize equipment downtime resulting in safe and operational equipment for patients and operators.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Technology (BMET) or Electronic Engineering.
  • Two years of Biomedical Technology experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to-one basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Level Degree.
  • Four years of BMET, military BMET, or hospital manufacturer field service experience. Cardiac device/equipment experience.
