POSITION SUMMARY

The Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in the acquisition and management of products, negotiating contracts, and assessing suppliers.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication abilities, along with meticulous attention to detail. The capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment and a readiness to learn are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inventory Management – Assess the company’s requirements for equipment, materials, and products. Ensure that necessary supplies are consistently available. Maintain awareness of current inventory levels. Analyze and predict customer and company needs.
  • Policy Development – Monitor market trends and prepare cost reports. Generate purchase orders and requisitions as required. Establish purchasing and contract management protocols. Organize the disposal of surplus materials.
  • Maintenance and Administration – Review and award incoming bids, grants, and requests for purchasing. Address vendor, contractor, and supplier issues as they arise. Create efficient inventory recordkeeping systems. Represent the company during negotiations.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Prior experience in budget management and contract negotiation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and detail-oriented abilities are required.
  • Capability to establish and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in an organized and timely manner.
