Position: Clinical Nurse Manager - Ambulatory Surgery Center

Orlando Health is seeking a dedicated leader to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and memorable patient experiences. The Clinical Nurse Manager will operate under the guidance of the Administrator, taking charge of planning, organizing, directing, and assessing clinical care quality while supporting the clinical team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategically plan, execute, and assess Patient Care Services aligned with the Center's objectives, striving to meet or surpass performance metrics established by management.

2. Oversee departmental readiness for licensure and accreditation evaluations, ensuring compliance with established standards.

3. Evaluate care delivery and patient outcomes through regular rounds, committee participation, quality assessments, performance improvement initiatives, and patient feedback.

4. Foster, plan, and execute interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure a cohesive approach to healthcare delivery.

5. Develop, implement, and assess policies, procedures, systems, roles, and programs to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, ultimately improving patient care services.

6. Identify educational needs and actively promote staff development initiatives.

7. Lead the development of operational, capital, and labor budgets.

8. Provide guidance to team members, address grievances, and resolve conflicts while reviewing and approving personnel actions.

9. Direct efforts to establish and revise staffing standards, including regular assessments of staffing patterns, recruitment, and retention strategies.

10. Cultivate and maintain effective communication and relationships with physicians, team members, and administrative staff.

11. Create and sustain a collaborative environment that supports the achievement of organizational goals related to quality, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, operational efficiency, and fiscal responsibility.

12. Develop and oversee quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Articulate and share a clear vision for the team that aligns with the mission of the Ambulatory Surgery Center, inspiring the team to realize that vision.
  • Provide motivation, coaching, and constructive feedback to nurture a high-performing team.
  • Facilitate change through effective communication, emphasizing the connection and value to the organization.
  • Encourage diverse ideas and collaboration across teams to achieve collective goals.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse and engaged workforce.
  • Exhibit strong strategic and financial insight in alignment with organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • License: Active RN license in the State of Florida.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in surgical leadership within a healthcare setting, demonstrating expertise in employee engagement and quality performance.
  • Skills: Recent experience in roles such as Operating Room Circulator, GI/ENDO Nurse, Pre-Operative Nurse, or Post Operative Nurse is required; scrub experience is preferred.
  • Customer Focus: Ability to engage with individuals at all levels to ensure quality patient care and exceptional service.
  • Communication: Proficient in oral and written communication, with the ability to influence when necessary.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Financial Acumen: Capable of planning and managing resources to meet financial objectives.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex situations and determine appropriate actions.
  • Problem Resolution: Skilled in addressing issues related to personnel, processes, and operations.
  • Time Management: Proficient in prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Able to function effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically agile; may involve frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Medium work capacity, including lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to maneuver in various environments, including confined spaces.
  • May require handling of biohazards following safety guidelines.
