Compensation: $18-20/hr
Certification: Paraprofessional/Teacher Assistant certification is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement IEP goals across various subjects including mathematics, literacy, speech, and social skills, either individually or as part of a classroom team.
- Assist in executing teacher-led educational activities such as lesson plans, worksheets, reinforcement strategies, small group instruction, and work support.
- Support students integrated into mainstream classrooms.
- Relay essential information to educators regarding student progress and needs.
- Supervise students during breaks and lunchtime, as well as during community outings.
- Maintain strict confidentiality concerning all student-related matters, adhering to guidelines set by supervising educators.
- Assist with the implementation of prescribed programs from related service professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists.
- Help students develop self-sufficiency through personal care routines such as hygiene and dressing.
- May be required to assist in behavior management strategies as directed by teaching staff or other educational professionals.
- Support teachers with administrative tasks, including preparing instructional materials, making copies, and maintaining an organized classroom environment.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid Paraprofessional or Teacher Assistant certification.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with supervisors, colleagues, and students.
- Proficiency in computer usage is preferred.
- Successful completion of background checks and onboarding processes is required.
- Must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is essential.
- Current certification as required by state or client regulations.
