Behavioral Health Counselor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Counselor to join our team at Licking County Alcoholism Prevention Program (LAPP). As a Behavioral Health Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing individual and group counseling sessions to clients seeking support for alcoholism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to assess clients' needs and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients throughout their recovery journey.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for each client.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in prevention and treatment.
  • Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to enhance your skills.
Requirements:
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • General computer and office-equipment knowledge.
  • Maintain confidentiality of our clients.
  • Treat our clients and staff with respect.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated counseling experience in behavioral health.
  • Minimum of an associate's degree.
  • Licensed in good standing as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDCII) or higher; Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or higher; Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or higher.
