Lead Optical Manufacturing Engineer

The Lead Optical Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, improve product quality, and reduce costs. This role will also involve performing time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and drive process enhancements. Additionally, the successful candidate will create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and refine manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, improve product quality, and reduce costs.
Perform time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and drive process enhancements.
Create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to reduce waste and improve productivity.
Oversee engineering projects from concept to execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Liaise with external vendors and suppliers when needed.
Facilitate operations and customer training while transferring product repair and technical support knowledge to the Technical Service team.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements
The successful Lead Optical Manufacturing Engineer will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of relevant experience in Medical Technical Service and/or training, with advanced expertise in medical devices, including knowledge of QMS (Quality Management Systems) and document control.
Proficient in communicating effectively across all levels of the organization, as well as with suppliers and customers.
Ability to mentor and lead junior engineers.
