Lead Power Supply Failure Analysis Engineer

Position Overview:
The Lead Power Supply Failure Analysis Engineer will engage in comprehensive failure analysis at both power supply and system levels to address RMA and customer-related challenges.
Key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
- Conducting debugging and functionality assessments of AC/DC switching power supply modules across various configurations utilizing Power Integration's technologies.
- Executing fault isolation and defect characterization on power integrated circuits (ICs) to ascertain the root causes of product failures observed during reliability and production testing, as well as in power supply applications.
- Delivering detailed technical reports to clients based on findings from power supply and product failure investigations.
- Interfacing with customers as needed to resolve satisfaction issues stemming from quality concerns and perceptions regarding product integrity.
- Providing assistance to Power Integrations clients in specific regions on quality issue resolution to guarantee customer satisfaction.
Effective verbal and written communication is essential. This includes crafting persuasive technical reports suitable for external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in failure analysis of power semiconductors, as well as analog and/or mixed-signal IC devices.
- Background in Switch-mode Power Supply applications and familiarity with analog and/or mixed-signal integrated circuit devices.
- Fluency in Mandarin, both spoken and written, is mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in English communication, including speaking, reading, and technical writing.
- Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in customer interactions related to quality problem resolution.
- Candidates with a background in automotive failure analysis and customer communication will be prioritized.
Capability to interpret system-level schematics, IC schematics, and IC layouts of CMOS and bipolar devices is required.
Preference will also be given to individuals who possess a deep understanding of analog, mixed-signal, or power semiconductor operational characteristics and can apply fault isolation techniques at both the chip and PCB levels within power supply systems.
Educational Background:
- A B.S. degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
- An MSEE or equivalent discipline with at least 3 years of professional experience will be considered favorably.

The annual base salary range for this role is competitive and is influenced by role, level, qualifications, and work location.
