Service Engineer for Field Operations

Your Responsibilities

  • Travel to client locations for initial setup and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Conduct repairs, maintenance, and service level agreement (SLA) support on machinery.
  • Provide flexible support to clients, including potential short-notice requests and off-schedule days.
  • Identify and report defective materials or conditions requiring further attention.
  • Ensure equipment is returned to clients in optimal cosmetic condition.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics, testing, and repairs on various systems.
  • Stay informed about the latest machine designs and participate in ongoing training.
  • Assemble spare parts and retrofit components according to specifications.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Represent the company and colleagues positively in all interactions.
  • Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
  • Take initiative to excel in your role and contribute to the company's success.
  • Keep your workspace clean and organized on a daily basis.
  • Present yourself in a professional manner.
  • Attend and engage in company meetings and discussions.
  • Be prepared to travel extensively, with 75% or more of your time spent on-site with clients.

Your Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A two-year degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Machine Assembly Technology is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant field service experience is required.
  • Experience in manufacturing and automation equipment is preferred.
  • 3-4 years of experience as a traveling Field Technician is required.
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% or more is essential.
  • Availability for on-call support and weekend work is required.
  • Familiarity with Machine Based Inspection and Defect Detection Systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly prints.
  • Basic understanding of electrical schematics for assembly wiring.
  • Intermediate mechanical knowledge is required.
  • Basic technical math skills are necessary.
  • Basic to intermediate electrical knowledge is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-Outlook.
