Job Summary

System One is seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer to join our team. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for performing mechanical field service activities, troubleshooting, and repairs of reciprocating internal combustion engines and auxiliary equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical field service activities, including troubleshooting, major repairs, and overhauls of reciprocating internal combustion engines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Support New Build and Commissioning teams on projects delivery.
  • Resolve technical and operating problems at customer power plants.
  • Track daily work activity progress and share with relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in customer meetings as part of our local mechanical support team.
  • Analyze technical problems and provide recommendations for solutions.
  • Travel to customer facilities for service attendance within Canada, U.S, and the Caribbean.
  • Travel for service jobs approximately 80% of the year.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a technical trade school diploma.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience performing field service activities on reciprocating internal combustion engines, diesel or heavy fuel engines, gas and or dual fuel engines, fuel oil or gas injection systems, and engines auxiliary systems.
  • Strong focus on safety protocols and QEHS standards.
  • Good leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Good electrical knowledge.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Good computer skills.
  • Coaching skills.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers $28-$38 an/hour based on experience + overtime. Must be able to travel heavily and work overtime.

Travel Requirements

This position requires a 80% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international, including onshore and offshore locations. The role demands adaptability to varying travel demands, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location.
