Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with clients and/or tax authorities, draft correspondence, conduct data reconciliation, prepare analyses, and manage filings.
  • Prepare, analyze, and provide technical support for severance tax returns with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Process prior period adjustments and submit amended returns.
  • Utilize state and governmental databases proficiently.
  • Communicate and interact with external contacts at regulatory and tax authorities.
  • Research and analyze state severance tax issues, providing insights to management and clients.
  • Implement efficiencies to streamline and ensure accurate account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Understand and adhere to established internal controls while identifying areas for improvement.
  • Perform and comply with SOX and SOC controls.
  • Exhibit a high level of personal motivation to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong organizational skills and a willingness to take on significant responsibilities while effectively managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Adaptability to grow and evolve with the company's needs.
Position, Experience & Education Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • At least 3-5 years of recent experience with tax processes, concepts, calculations, reporting, and payment obligations related to GLO, ONRR, and Ute Indian Tribe regulatory requirements, while staying informed of regulatory changes.
  • Strong understanding of the development, planning, and execution of regulatory tax refund claims.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with one or more of the following systems: OGSys, W Energy, Enertia, and Bolo.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States; sponsorship for H1B applicants is not available at this time.
Work Environment:

EAG Services offers a variety of flexible schedules and models, which will be confirmed during the interview process.
