Position Overview

The Eyewear Specialist plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our patients at AEG Vision. This position involves assisting customers in selecting eyewear and accessories that align with their individual needs and lifestyle. The Eyewear Specialist is essential to our operations, ensuring patient satisfaction through technical expertise and outstanding customer service.

Offers a remarkable experience to each customer, ensuring they fully understand our tailored recommendations for products and services. Builds a personal clientele by delivering exceptional service and encouraging referrals. Stays informed about the latest products and procedures in the optical industry, including manufacturer promotions and the variety of lenses and frames available. Manages patient communications, providing updates on order statuses and resolving any issues that may arise, while escalating concerns to management when necessary. Accesses patient records and electronic health documentation. Guides patients in choosing frames, lens types, and treatments based on their specific requirements and facial measurements. Instructs patients on the proper care of eyeglasses and contact lenses. Measures eye and facial dimensions to ensure an accurate fit. Interprets prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists. Prepares work orders for laboratory technicians, detailing the specifications for lenses. Follows up on outstanding orders, ensuring they meet the expected timelines and notifying patients of any delays. Informs patients when their orders arrive. Dispenses eyewear by inspecting the product for quality, ensuring proper fit, and making adjustments as needed while seeking customer feedback. Adjusts eyewear to optimize visual clarity, fit, and comfort, utilizing various tools for adjustments and repairs. Proficiently uses tools such as pupilometers, PD sticks, lensometers, and other necessary equipment. Maintains regular communication with technicians and management to provide additional patient information or inquire about order statuses. Inspects the final products for any defects, cleaning and polishing lenses as required. Ensures the cleanliness and organization of the store, including frame displays, work areas, and common spaces. Restocks merchandise on retail displays as needed. Understands product-related inquiries and provides thorough answers regarding insurance, warranties, products, materials, services, pricing, and promotions. Collaborates effectively with technicians, front desk staff, management, and optometrists. Sells additional products such as cleaning supplies, contact lens accessories, sunglasses, and safety eyewear.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required. At least one year of experience in a similar role is strongly preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional customer service abilities and a friendly demeanor, with sales experience preferred. Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination. Dependable and punctual. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, and to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
