Position Overview

The Eyewear Specialist plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to clients by assisting them in selecting the perfect eyewear and accessories tailored to their individual needs. This position is essential to our operations, ensuring that customers receive personalized attention and expert advice on their eyewear choices.

Key Responsibilities

Provide an outstanding experience for each client, ensuring they fully understand our tailored recommendations for products and services. Build and maintain a loyal clientele through exceptional service and by encouraging referrals. Stay informed about the latest products and industry trends, including manufacturer promotions and the various types of lenses and frames available. Manage patient communications, including updates on order statuses and resolving any issues that may arise. Access and manage patient records efficiently. Guide clients in selecting frames and lens options based on their specific needs and facial measurements. Educate clients on the proper care and maintenance of eyeglasses and contact lenses. Measure eye and facial dimensions to ensure an accurate fit. Interpret prescriptions from eye care professionals. Create detailed work orders for laboratory technicians, specifying lens requirements. Follow up on all pending orders, ensuring timely delivery and keeping clients informed of any delays. Dispense eyewear by inspecting products for quality, ensuring proper fit, and gathering client feedback. Adjust eyewear for optimal visual clarity, fit, and comfort using specialized tools. Utilize various instruments such as pupilometers, PD sticks, and lensometers proficiently. Maintain regular communication with technicians and management regarding patient needs and order statuses. Conduct final inspections of eyewear products to ensure quality, cleaning, and polishing lenses as necessary. Keep the store environment organized and visually appealing by maintaining cleanliness and order. Restock display areas with new merchandise as needed. Address client inquiries regarding insurance, warranties, products, and pricing with thorough and accurate information. Collaborate effectively with technicians, front desk staff, management, and eye care professionals. Promote and sell additional products such as cleaning supplies, sunglasses, and safety eyewear.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. At least one year of experience in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven customer service abilities and a friendly demeanor; sales experience is advantageous. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Reliability and punctuality are crucial. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending and standing for extended periods.

Travel Requirements

Minimal travel is expected for this position.
