Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Program Associate to join our team at N Street Village. As a Program Associate, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to our clients, helping them achieve stability and make meaningful gains in their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients through regular communication and contact
  • Assist with the daily operations of the program, including setting up breakfast and lunch items, toiletries, and other essential supplies
  • Conduct program intake and initial health wellness screenings for clients
  • Respond to client needs, help de-escalate crisis situations, and enforce program rules
  • Complete program documentation, including daily activity sheets, monthly reports, and incident reports as needed
  • Provide support and assistance to clients, including completing care coordination tasks and referrals for services
  • Collaborate with volunteers and partner agencies to provide comprehensive services to clients
  • Participate in program team meetings, staff meetings, and supervision meetings as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of direct social services experience, or
  • HS Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of direct social services experience, or
  • HS Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations and the related issues of addiction and mental illness
  • Familiarity with DC's Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
  • Knowledge of issues facing those who are experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable populations
  • Working knowledge of trauma
  • Values commensurate with a community committed to providing inclusive services without regard to race, religion, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong cultural competence and excellent interactions and communication ability with a diverse population
  • Mature abilities in developing interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Possess crisis management skills and excellent written and verbal communication
  • Detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a commitment to high-quality work
