Position Overview:
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking outstanding candidates for the role of Clinical Assistant Professor. This position is integral to our mission of delivering exceptional medical education and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive ophthalmological medical and surgical services in accordance with established service rotations and call schedules.
- Engage actively in the education and training of residents and medical students.
- Uphold high standards of clinical quality, productivity, and professional conduct within the department.
- Foster collaborative relationships with clinicians, trainees, and staff across affiliated practices.
- Establish and nurture referral and educational partnerships within the University of Miami Health System and with external practices.
- Enhance regional and national visibility as a clinical leader through participation in relevant meetings and conferences.
- Secure funding for academic and research initiatives, including clinical trials and translational research.
- Contribute to quality assurance protocols and clinical outcome studies at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
- Fulfill administrative and committee responsibilities as assigned by departmental leadership.
- Provide patient care at satellite locations as required by departmental needs.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess board certification or eligibility and hold a valid medical license to practice in Florida.
