Job Summary:

Florida State University College of Medicine seeks a tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Family Medicine & Rural Health. The successful candidate will contribute to the college's mission of training patient-centered physicians devoted to the needs of rural, underserved, minority, and elderly populations.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an independent line of community-engaged research that attracts significant extramural grant support.
  • Serve as a research mentor for clinical faculty in the department.
  • Write papers for professional journals and serve on various committees that support the curricular, research, and other functions of the department, the college, and the university.
  • Teach medical and/or physician assistant students.
  • Opportunities for outpatient clinical practice are available.
Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree (PhD, MD, DrPH or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in research, teaching, and service.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of excellence in community-engaged research.
  • Proven record of research success, including a record of extramural research funding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration and partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success in building and sustaining interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Excellent mentoring and teaching skills, highly valued as critical contributors to our mission of training the next generation of healthcare professionals and scientists.
