Position Summary

The Facilities Operations Supervisor in Housing and Residence Life is responsible for overseeing all maintenance, repair, and operational activities within the residence halls and associated housing properties.

This role includes direct supervision of maintenance personnel and custodial staff, ensuring efficient management of the maintenance team to address maintenance issues that affect the living experience of students in on-campus housing.

Key responsibilities also involve managing administrative tasks related to the procurement of maintenance supplies and equipment, overseeing the departmental budget for maintenance and custodial functions, collaborating with campus Facilities Management and Planning on housing facility projects, and developing a comprehensive preventative maintenance strategy for Housing and Residence Life.

Additionally, the Facilities Operations Supervisor may engage in hands-on maintenance tasks as required, providing skilled services in plumbing, painting, carpentry, and electrical repairs.

This position will work closely with the Housing and Residence Life staff to ensure alignment with departmental goals and objectives.

Coordinate projects with Facilities Management and Planning, as well as order and maintain necessary supplies and equipment to fulfill assigned tasks.

Duties:
Inspect residential facilities regarding general maintenance, fire, and safety conditions, making necessary repairs and/or reporting to the direct supervisor as needed.

Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance plan for the long-term success of facility maintenance.
