D.R. Horton, Inc. is actively seeking an Operations Supervisor for its Operations Division. The ideal candidate will oversee all operational activities and product development, either directly or through subordinate managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Purchasing, Estimating, Design, and Permitting Departments.
  • Formulate and uphold manufacturing operations business strategies, encompassing all program requirements, labor hours, production costs, and overall image.
  • Set production and quality control benchmarks, develop budgets and cost management systems, and gather data regarding product types, quantities, specifications, and delivery timelines.
  • Guide the creation of a manufacturing process plan, addressing personnel needs, material requirements, subcontractor needs, facility necessities, and tooling and equipment specifications.
  • Define the roles and responsibilities of assigned teams and staff to achieve business goals.
  • Train and ensure compliance of all assigned personnel with company, governmental, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of product strategies and the research and development of innovative products.
  • Analyze production and operational reports, directing the resolution of manufacturing and maintenance issues to minimize costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Conduct all business dealings in a professional and ethical manner to enhance customer satisfaction and bolster the company's reputation and profitability.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position directly supervises two or more subordinate supervisors and is responsible for executing supervisory duties in alignment with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving issues.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is required, along with seven (7) to ten (10) years of relevant experience and/or training. A valid driver's license and a vehicle are necessary.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in estimating, budgeting, and AS400 spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to follow instructions provided in written or oral form.
  • Proficient in MS Office and email communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Capability to accurately and efficiently process and document large volumes of data.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and attention to detail.
