Job Title: Medical Assistant - Psychiatric Setting

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Sheboygan County Health and Human Services. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to our clinical staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will provide consultation and medication services to clients and staff, while also facilitating psychiatry services via telehealth. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consult with psychiatrists regarding client questions and concerns
  • Facilitate psychiatry services via telehealth
  • Administer oral and intramuscular medications to clients
  • Ensure accurate ordering, documentation, and availability of consumer medications
  • Report progress and observations to the treatment team
  • Provide case management duties, including services within the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) framework
  • Complete or assist clients in completion of paperwork for patient assistance programs
  • Provide support to psychiatrist, obtaining vitals and weight measurements
  • Maintain professional certification and competence through continuing education
Requirements:
  • High school graduation and prior work or volunteer experience in a human services organization
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a human services related field preferred
  • Experience working as a Medical Assistant in a psychiatric setting
  • Certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants
  • Ability to establish rapport with persons from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards
