Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant or LPN to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering health information.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, such as strep tests and wound cultures, using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
  • Assist physicians and advance practice providers with procedures and surgeries, including pelvic exams and EMGs.
  • Administer routine medications under physician orders, including immunizations and antibiotics.
  • Provide patient education and instructions on routine tasks and skills.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure smooth clinic flow.
  • Perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks, such as removal of sutures and staples, and phlebotomy.
Requirements
  • LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which you practice, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding and electronic medical records systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop rapport and maintain positive relationships with patients, family, staff, and physicians.
