Job Title: Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team at Prevea Health in Sheboygan, WI.

Job Summary:

The Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing venipuncture and capillary puncture on adult, neonatal, and pediatric patients, as well as assisting in obtaining specimens from indwelling lines. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture on patients according to established protocol
  • Assist in obtaining specimens from indwelling lines
  • Instruct patients in all urine collection procedures and testing requirements
  • Participate in education of students and new personnel
  • Work with computer systems, including Epic and Sunquest
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety guidelines
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
  • Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience
  • Knowledge of clinic and laboratory policies and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Working Conditions:

The Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, frequently exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and ionizing radiation. The ideal candidate will be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds and push/pull patients with a wheelchair as needed.
