Key Responsibilities- Prepare and room patients for clinical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Perform laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy, EKG, and spirometry, under clinical supervision.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice clinicians with procedures and administer routine medications as directed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence in patient care.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent, or current LPN licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, obtained within 45 days of hire.
- 2 years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant or LPN.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop rapport with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic medical records systems.
This role requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and reaching above shoulders throughout the workday. Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance, with patient handling equipment available for heavier lifts or patient assistance.
Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluids is frequent, with protective clothing and equipment provided as needed.
