Position Summary

The Travel Accounting and Services division is tasked with delivering comprehensive travel services, from arranging travel reservations to processing employee expense reimbursements post-trip. The Travel Accounting Specialist (Accounting Specialist II/III) will oversee the verification of Travel and Expense Reports, Purchase Card (PCard) statement reconciliations, and other financial documents, ensuring compliance with Aerospace Corporation's policies and procedures.

Work Model

This is a full-time role that offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending regular onsite workdays with remote flexibility as dictated by business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine and authorize Travel and Expense Reports in line with corporate policies, ensuring accurate posting of transactions in SAP.
  • Assist in the review and approval of Purchase Card (PCard) statements, confirming that transactions adhere to company policies and that appropriate expenses and sales taxes are accurately recorded in SAP.
  • Collaborate with employees to interpret company policies and provide guidance on reconciling their Travel & Expense Reports and PCard statements.
  • Execute month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Address audit inquiries and supply necessary information as required.
  • Contribute to enhancements in systems and processes to support initiatives and projects.
  • Perform tasks within the Travel Accounting domain, including reconciling Concur/SAP Interfaces, managing AMEX Corporate Cards, executing cost transfers, and airfare reconciliations.

Qualifications for Success

Minimum qualifications for the Accounting Specialist II role include:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with Corporate Card products and account management.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, accounting systems, and corporate policies.
  • Experience as a functional user of SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.
  • Proficiency in Concur Travel and Expense System or comparable expense reimbursement tools.
  • Proficient in standard office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

For the Accounting Specialist III position, a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

It would be advantageous to possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with system implementation and/or process improvements.
