About the Role

The State of Vermont is seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nutritionist I to join our team. As a Public Health Nutritionist I, you will play a critical role in promoting healthy eating habits and lifestyles among Vermonters. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about improving the health and well-being of our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to individuals and groups, focusing on healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices.
  • Develop and implement public health interventions to promote healthy eating and physical activity among Vermonters.
  • Collaborate with community partners to promote healthy eating and physical activity initiatives.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform public health policy and programming.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to promote healthy eating and physical activity initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, nutritional sciences, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, or public health nutrition.
  • Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (R.D./R.D.N) certification.
  • At least one year of experience providing nutrition education and counseling.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
