Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public Health Nutritionist to join our team at the State of Vermont. As a Public Health Nutritionist, you will play a critical role in providing nutritional counseling and breastfeeding support to individuals enrolled in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) supplemental nutrition program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nutritional counseling and breastfeeding support to WIC participants
  • Develop and implement public health interventions to promote healthy eating habits and lifestyles
  • Collaborate with community partners to educate and promote healthy behaviors
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of nutrition interventions
  • Participate in outcomes-based planning and evaluation of the Nutrition Services Plan
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in nutrition, nutritional sciences, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, or public health nutrition
  • OR applicant in the final semester of a bachelor's or higher degree program in nutrition, nutritional sciences, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, or public health nutrition
  • Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (R.D./R.D.N) preferred
  • At least one year of experience providing nutrition education
